Louis Daniel, a native of Pascagoula, Mississippi, was an active participant in church and school choral programs growing up. Louis continued his piano studies and studied voice upon reaching the University of Southern Mississippi, graduating with a choral degree in 1987.
He has served as organist and choirmaster at several churches in both Pascagoula and Mobile, Alabama, and has also served as a professional chorister. In addition, Louis is a talented composer, and his Christmas piece, "Love, Come This Blessed Morn," has become a local favorite. "Requiem," a mass written in memory of his father, was completed and performed in 2013. Louis and Matthew Still, another local composer, collaborated on "Sancta Madonna" several years ago, and they are working on two companion pieces for it now. These and more of his compositions have been performed by Gloria Dei Chorale.
Louis lives in Mobile and is currently the organist and choirmaster at Saint John's Episcopal Church in Mobile, as well as one of the organists at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Semmes, Alabama.
